The Butchering of a Lover

Written by Shea Clendenning

First, beefed up with
    gentle kisses and
    passionate touch,
Then the long shipping
    haul of the stagnate
    stench love once left.
As the lover falls in
    one of the Butcher's
    lies, she is slashed across
    the heart with hurtful words
    of length and distance.
A heart: the choice meat
    for Butcher's.
