Torn Sails
Written by Jack Miller
To this love
Rage is brought
Causes.
Age is surely one.
Torn sails flap with desperate anger at the wind it no longer catches.
The source of energy is without bounds
But worn weathered canvas betrays vessel.
Abandoned and forsaken on the sea of undone
No longer dancing on wave tops of graceful aging
This ship is clumsy and enraged.
Where are the romantic seascapes painted in youth,
Seen through the mariner's eye of good intention?
This storm is not directed at innocence and grace
Yet the torrid gales crash upon your shore.
For this my tears fall.
