Untitled #5

A valley in the clouds

     Opens to show what's beneath

     Mountains carved and sculpted

     To make the crowning glory,

An estate, an excess of vanity

Beyond, the clouds cover the ground,

     Low morning mist making mountains

     Islands in the stream,

     A frothy ocean of white,

Western Sentinels are cumulous,

     High and mighty,

     Billowed masses of lightning seeds

     Sown in crops of rain,

To the East, a true ocean is lost

     Like Atlantis to my sight.

Somewhere between Earth and Sky,

     Harbored in mist and mercury,

We watch the world slide slowly by

     Beneath.
