Judgement

Jennifer Paige©1994

Why do you stand before me like a prince?

In your hooded cloak of death

You reek of pain and suffering

And the foul attitude you present

You are tall and mighty

            Lacking love—

Your presence makes me weak

            Go from here

For looking upon you will bring only death

Why must you remain before me like a prince?

Unshielded from my radiance

I smell of incense and oil of rose

And passions left unspent

I sit upon this throne

            Awaiting love—

Accepting none from beneath

            Why are you here?

Surely you come to bring me my fate

You raise up you head and reveal a face

So pallid and gaunt against the blackness

So hauntingly beautiful

With your crystal eyes

And thin, hard lips

How much I want them to ravage my body

Lying cold and naked in this courtroom

            Performing painful, lustful feats

            For our jury and judgement

Indifferent to anything but pain and pleasure

Why now do I quiver beneath you like a child?

Before the beating begins?

The smell of death and blood are pungent

Ardent ecstasy to the senses

Like animals in heat

            Dismissing love—

Life’s outlook is bleak

Have your way with me here

Prince in Darkness, bring me death

You raise up your blade, I’ll reveal the place

So pallid and gaunt against its blackness

Chillingly pleasurable

This piercing, this fright

Your hard, thin lips

Journey to all the right places as you ravage this body

Lying cold and naked on this stone floor

            Shrieking the furious, violent chants

            For our jury and judgement

Entertaining the angels with sex and slaughter
