Feet of Clay

Child

Shivering alone

And cold

Tormented then blown apart

He who once kissed these feet of clay

Now has lips of stone

Silken night wind

Blows through gossamer hair

That swishes through the trees

Like the moonlight

This tiny heart that beats so fast

So afraid that you’ll run away

Abandoned

In the past

Like cold times before

The eyes of silver

Wonder if you love

Wonder what you want

And why you stay

How the sandstone sticks to you face

Green acrylic paint radar of your mind

Spinning lifelessly

Noiselessly

In the night

Do fish dream?

Do they feel love?

Do they wonder where their mothers and fathers are?

Do they feel old?

Will the night disappear

With the last strand of moonlight hair?

How’s the boy?

Your son

Yeah, him

He’s dependent so he can’t be a basis

Tormented

Tearing you asunder

Only four songs away

From Waterspoon

Where I will kiss the feet of clay
