Ice Flow

Jennifer Paige©1995

Snow waves in the road

Marbled by the wind

Jet stream ribboned by the moon

And the sun makes the ice flow on forever

And endless sea of crystal and white

Never been so scared of you

Never been so in love

But couldn’t it be convenience?

Watching the faces of two so infatuated

So innocent

I wish he were here so I could touch him

I know I love his face

More than anything

I wish he thought of my like this

In memory of his gentleness

I surrender this tear

To honor his smile

I relinquish my own

For his dreams of greatness

I offer tonight’s visions of my own

And in memory of m’love

‘Tis best for me to forget

How the ice flowed over his grave today
