Winter
Jennifer Paige©1995
The
winter sky
Mirrored
in your icy tears
Your
eyes
Taken
in by their chocolate depth
Drowning
And
your sun never shined through hazy morning rain
Sometimes
I feel Ive never been so cold
And
still Ive never been so warm
Beside
you
Things
seem to repeat themselves in my mind
And
Im lost for eternity
In
a world so desperately familiar
I
swear I must have known you before
A
long, long time ago
The
perennial grass is withered and dying
The
time for neglect begins again
And
winters thick, foggy blanket
Cannot
block out the fear of the spring
The
eyes rushing torrents
Melt
the runoff
Feel
it gently trickle down like frost flakes
In
the snow
