Silent Moment
Jennifer Paige©1996
Why
do you hesitate?
What
do I have to do to save you?
Save
your misery?
To
cease your worry?
Each
movement
You
hover and dart like a butterfly
Hideous
until you hatched
All
silken and safe
Not
knowing what would be
What
you could become
Beautiful
So
you live in the cascade of hate
Surrounded
by famine and disgrace
Filthy
homes
Grimy
fingernails
And
wails of misery
Only
to bloom
