Tame

The sky all shades of green

As we wait for the beginning’s end

A rain from verdant heaven

            Consigned to oblivion

All the birds of Hope have flown away

That which does not kill up

            Leaves us scarred

The Human race full of passion

As insubstantial as ghosts

Against the tapestry of my heart

            My ship’s run aground

            Is it here I’m bound?

I walk the light, it tags along behind

Hiding form the shadows of the night

Beneath the stains of time,

The last place on Earth,

Temple of the Sun—your eyes—

Where night rises like steam

            Let me worship there

Your words irrevocable

Misremembered beneath ivy of my mind

Write of this soul

With a voice like many rivers

Holding a star in your hand
