Reality, Or?
Jennifer Paige©1999
I sigh and await your sweet return
Lover
You monopolize my thoughts
Slide slowly like honey into each crevasse
And hollow, sweet and golden
Memory ebbs and flows
Consumes my every breath
And replaces it with soft moans as they escape
Your lips,
Reaching in all the right places
You kiss every inch of me
In dream
In reality
Which is truth?
In dreams you feel tangible against me
In reality I float off the ground on a cloud
Unable to detect any nuance of a difference
When skin on skin in either realm
My mind recalling you does so with such detail
That it is as though you are here with me
When I close my eyes
The heat we create awakens me in the night with slick thighs
And the sobering, empty chill that crashes through
The dizzy, drunk visions is
Harrowing
When I find, again, only the vacancy beside me
