Immense and intense

            It ascends

            Like a blanket of thick and misty fog

            Which climbs up the slope   

            Of a heart

Invading

            Though a wanted trespasser this night

Soft and slow like moonlight

            The wave, iridescent, creeps

            Into the cavities left untouched

            By the words of a lover

Illuminating

            The dark hollows holy

Again and alas

            The fear of a misplaced step

            To step on toes trying themselves for a foothold

            And slipping

Hark and happen upon

            Another lost and shivering soul

            To share a dream of dreams with
