Daylight
©Jennifer Paige
It seems like years since I've seen the
Daylight--
Now it sears my retinas
Inflicting a pain so intense that I must
Run back inside to hide
Why do you torment me so?
My heart screams in anguish
Once more I must return to my dark dungeon
And fact the dampness and the mildew odor
I will see the day before I die
Smell its sweetness, see its colorful palate
Being able to see again would be the
Greatest gift of all
