Time Heals
©Jennifer Paige
Combing the battlefields day after day
Everywhere dying bodies lay
Grief-stricken widows wander about
Time heals all wounds, no doubt
Placing flowers upon her grave
Pain ebbs and flows like waves
Tears flow freely from his eyes
Time heals all wounds, 'tis no lie
Broken-hearted a young girl stands
Silver blade flashes in her hand
Neglected now even by the moon
Surely time can heal her wounds
A confused boy stands, his gun in hand
Ready to defend what's been deemed "his land"
The fear in his eyes tells a different tale
But time will heal his wounds as well
