Another Ring
Jennifer Paige©2000
In the spring when love is new, buds are tender, kissed with dew
Branches reaching towards the sun in praise of life that's just begun
Swaying with willowy branches lithe, weeping with new pleasure, cries
Singing sighs and secrets shared, with lovers of dreams with which we're paired
Life's blood rages through the veins, a fire that's cooled by summer rains
Scattered passion to the winds while desire's blossom blooms therein
In fertile fields of verdant green and the sticky sweet of everything
Veiled in fragrant steam and then the burning blaze begins again
Crowning glory of harvest red, wind blows colder, long lives we've led
In the throughs of Autumn's hold, warm with sunkiss, wet with gold
Sowing the seeds of wisdom there, all too soon the loving branches bare
Whispered wishes, prayers for peace, our only comfort the season leaves
Stripped are the trappings of our youth in facing long Winter's bitter truth
Leaving only a shroud of frost, a frigid beauty, hope is not lost
For here the sun still peeks it's head, roots are deeper than what is dead
Cold words of snow may freeze and sting, All, in the end, is another ring
All, in the end, is another ring
All, in the end, is another ring
