Small

Jennifer Paige©2000

You'd always whine when I wore heels

On and on about how small it made you feel

I should have seen it then

But you were always the clever one

Lying to me about your wife, your children

I wonder if you missed them

     While you neglected me?

Then we'd hardly ever go out

I still couldn't figure what all the secrecy was about

Why you were my only friend

You told my parents to leave me alone

Making "our" excuses in condescending tones

     The beginning of the end

Of making a fool of me

Chorus         Well, I hope you liked this body

Yeah, I hope you liked this flesh

'Cause you never touched my soul

And everything you though you stole

                       Was only what I gave

You could never do the same

                       With such a small soul

All those nights with too much wine

When you were drunk and homesick all the time

That's when the last draw came

I tried to leave, you hit my face

You called me nothing, a disgrace

Yelled you would not be tamed

There's nowhere else to lay the blame

Chorus          Well, I hope you like your body

Yeah, I hope you like you flesh

'Cause you'll never touch your soul

                      For everything you've ever stolen

There's a step you will recede

                       From your goal

                       You'll keep your small soul
